Everyone said Cassie was a promising young woman until a tragic event abruptly derailed her future. Now she’s a medical school drop-out, living at home with her worried parents and working at a coffee shop with a concerned boss. It seems like she is at a standstill, except for the double life Cassie leads at night.
In addition to Mulligan in the lead role, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Bo Burnham, fresh off of his wildly-acclaimed dramedy Eighth Grade, along with Alison Brie (GLOW), Connie Britton (American Horror Story), Adam Brody (Shazam!), Jennifer Coolidge (2 Broke Girls), Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Max Greenfield (New Girl), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World), Sam Richardson (Detroiters) and Molly Shannon (Divorce).
The film is being written and directed by Emerald Fennell, who will be making her feature directorial debut and is known for her acting work on the hit British television dramas Call the Midwife and The Crown and is currently attached as the head writer for the second season of the acclaimed BBC America thriller series Killing Eve, which is set to premiere on April 7.
