Bleecker Street has released the official trailer for Welsh director Euros Lyn’s upcoming drama film adaptation of Dream Horse, based on Janet Vokes’ biographical novel of the same name which centers on the heart-warming and inspiring story of Dream Alliance. Starring Oscar nominee Toni Collette and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, the film had its world premiere last month at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and it will have its theatrical release in select theaters on May 1. The film tells the inspiring true story of Dream Alliance, an unlikely racehorse bred by small-town Welsh bartender, Jan Vokes (Toni Collette). With very little money and no experience, Jan convinces her neighbors to chip in their meager earnings to help raise Dream in the hopes he can compete with the racing elites. The group’s investment pays off as Dream rises through the ranks with grit and determination and goes on to race in the Welsh Grand National showing the heart of a true champion.

The film stars Oscar nominee Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Hereditary, Knives Out) as Jan Vokes and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (Homeland) as Howard Davies. It will also feature Owen Teale (Game of Thrones) as Brian, Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey) as Angela Davies, Nicholas Farrell as Phillip Hobbs, Peter Davison (All Creatures Great and Small) as Lord Avery, Anthony O’Donnell as Maldwyn, Lynda Baron (Open All Hours) and Karl Johnson (Wittgenstein).

Dream Horse is directed by Euros Lyn, who is known for directing episodes in TV shows such as Sherlock, Black Mirror, Daredevil, and the most recent one His Dark Materials. It is written by Neil McKay with Katherine Butler and Tracy O’Riordan serving as producers.
