Focus Features has dropped the official Belfast trailer for Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh’s forthcoming coming-of-age comedy-drama film, featuring an all-star cast led by newcomer Jude Hill.
The Belfast trailer, which you can check out along with the key-art, features a 10-year-old boy in Belfast as he spends his childhood amid the social tumult of the late 1960s, Northern Ireland. The film had its world premiere yesterday at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival, and is slated to arrive in theaters on Friday, November 12.

Belfast is written and directed by acclaimed actor-director Kenneth Branagh, who previously described the project as his “most personal film” to date. The film will be led by newcomer Jude Hill as Buddy. Joining him are Golden Globe nominee Caitriona Balfe (Outlander) and BAFTA nominee Jamie Dornan as Buddy’s passionate working-class parents, with Oscar-winner Dame Judi Dench, and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Buddy’s sharp-witted grandparents.
The synopsis reads: “The film s a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy’s childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s.”

Belfast is produced by Branagh, Laura Berwick, Becca Kovacik and Tamar Thomas. The creative team includes director of photography, Haris Zambarloukos and editor Una Ni Dhonghaile.
This marks the latest collaboration between Dench and Branagh, who have worked together in numerous films such as: Henry V, All Is True, My Week with Marilyn, Murder on the Orient Express and Artemis Fowl.
