In addition, it has also been announced that the first single from the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever original soundtrack is set to launch this Friday, October 28. The lead single titled “Lift Me Up,” will be performed by Grammy-winning artist Rihanna as she makes her long-awaited music comeback. It hails from Tems, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and Ryan Coogler as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman.

“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” songwriter Tems said in a statement. “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me, so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”

Based on the Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film.

It will see the return of most of its original main cast, including Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Florence Kasumba as Ayo. Joining them are franchise newcomers Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) as Namor, Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You) as Aneka, Mabel Cadena as Namora, and Alex Livinalli as Attuma.
