ComingSoon is exclusively debuting the trailer for the short horror film The Looming by Masha Ko.
A horrific glimpse into aging and the fear of being forgotten by those we love. The Looming follows the story of Chester, a 70-year-old man who begins hearing strange noises in his home. Although he seeks help from his daughter and coworkers, they dismiss his concerns. But when Luna, his home audio assistant, detects the sounds, Chester realizes that it has not all been in his head.
The Looming was made with the purpose of evoking empathy surrounding the topics of loneliness and dementia. You can watch the exclusive trailer below.

The short film has been selected for Sundance’s Midnight Short Film Program. Director Masha Ko, also a human installation artist, gave ComingSoon a quote in response to the short film’s selection.

The Looming stars Joseph Lopez, Kolten Horner, and Alyssa Nicole. The production team includes Director of Photography Andrey Nikolaev, Sound Designer Jamie Hardt, and Composer Devin L. Johnson.
The Looming will screen in person as part of the Midnight Short Film Program at Sundance 2024 from January 22 until January 27, 2024. Online screenings for the public will be available from January 25-29, 2024.
