Netflix’s official trailer for new original movie, Irreplaceable You
Netflix‘s new original movie, Irreplaceable You, centers around a newly engaged couple, Abbie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and Sam (Michiel Huisman), who have been best friends and the love of each other’s lives since childhood. But when the future they envisioned together takes a tragic turn, their relationship is put to the ultimate test.
In this heartwarming (and heartbreaking) romantic story, Abbie and Sam are enjoying a tranquil New York life together before it all comes crashing down when Abbie receives an unexpected diagnosis. Faced with the prospect of an uncertain timeline, Abbie begins a touching and often humorous search for a new love to take care of Sam.
Along the way, Abbie makes unlikely friendships with Myron (Christopher Walken), Kate (Kate McKinnon) and Mitch (Steve Coogan) whose one thing in common is that they focus on living, while they are dying. Ultimately, Irreplaceable You asks the question, how do you say goodbye?
The series stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw (A Wrinkle in Time), Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones), Emmy Award winner Steve Coogan (Philomena), Academy Award winner Christopher Walken (The Jungle Book), Emmy Award winner Kate McKinnon (SNL), Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), and Tim Simons (Veep).
The movie is the feature directorial debut of Emmy Award winner Stephanie Laing (Veep, Eastbound & Down) and was written by Bess Wohl.
Irreplaceable You will launch on Netflix on February 16.
