Charles Manson, who led a murderous cult in the 60s, died on November 19, 2017, of natural causes, per BBC. He was serving nine life sentences for nine murders his followers – the Manson Family – committed across Los Angeles. He had been in custody for forty years but was admitted to the Bakersfield hospital in California, at the time of his demise.

The BBC report stated that according to the California Department of Corrections, Charles Manson “died of natural causes at 8:13 pm” on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Bakersfield hospital in Kern County, California. He was serving nine life sentences in prison and was only admitted to the hospital earlier that same month. Manson was 83 years old.
The report mentioned that among those victimized by the killing spree was Hollywood actress and Roman Polanski’s wife, Sharon Tate. One of Manson’s young followers Susan Atkins stabbed Tate, who was pregnant at the time, to death on August 9, 1969. Following this, Atkins scrawled ‘PIG’ on the home’s front door using the victim’s blood.
Reportedly, the Manson Family brutally stabbed four other people at Tate’s house. The following day, they murdered Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, a wealthy Los Angeles couple. The final two murder victims were Hollywood stuntman Donald Shea, a Hollywood stuntman, and Gary Hinman.
Charles Manson was never present at the scene of the crimes but was nonetheless, convicted of the nine murders. His conviction was based on the claim that he directed his followers in seven of the killings. He was then given the death penalty in 1971.
However, before the convicted murderer could be executed, the state outlawed capital punishment. Following this, his sentence was reduced and he was handed nine life terms instead. He applied for parole a dozen times over the four decades but was denied at each attempt.
The outlet further reported that in 2014, the former cult leader was given a marriage license to marry a 26-year-old woman but the marriage never went ahead.
