In the previous episode of Tidelands, Augie learned that Calliope is a Tidelander, Calliope discovered that her mother had framed her for the murder of a police officer and Adrielle learned about a new artifact. Commitment
Calliope showered and thought back to times in her youth when her father tried to tell her that she was a Tidelander. In her youthful naivety, Calliope had not realized it in the moment. She and Augie discussed how breathing underwater felt. Corey arrived to rendezvous with Calliope. Dylan returned to the Tidelander settlement and Lamar complained about Gregori’s presence and sent Dylan to get Gregori to leave. He tracked down Adrielle and expressed his displeasure at her fear of Calliope, and begged to be told why. Calliope explained to Corey why she couldn’t leave Orphelin Bay, but she told Corey to leave for his own safety. But Corey committed to helping Calliope in any way that he could.
Strategizing
Adrielle took Dylan to the dungeon where she kept the witch. She showed Dylan the prophecy regarding Calliope, and he was frightened by what he saw. Calliope went to find Bill, but was intercepted by Dylan. He explained the prophecy, but Calliope was unconvinced by Dylan’s reasoning. Gregori agreed to pay for Adrielle’s newest artifact in exchange for summoning a Siren. Gregori wanted to the meeting, as they were supposedly fallen angels. Bill explained to Calliope the origin of the shards that Adrielle was searching for. They were reportedly part of a horn that when sounded, would flood the Earth with a giant wave. Adrielle agreed to Gregori’s terms and began to summon a Siren. Corey returned to the police station and overheard the chief investigating Calliope’s father, Pat’s death. Corey followed the chief as he went to investigate it in the field. Adrielle went to meet with Rosa, and asked Rosa to dispose of Calliope.
Spy Work
Augie went to the bar at the behest of Rosa and she quickly pulled a gun on him. Rosa and Adrielle took Augie prisoner and forced him to get Calliope to come to the bar. Adrielle agreed to get rid of Gregori if Augie got rid of Calliope. Augie betrayed Adrielle and warned Calliope against coming home and fled from the bar. Bill and Calliope arrived at the Tidelander settlement and, with Lamar’s help, infiltrated Adrielle’s personal chambers. Calliope began to take all of the shards, while Bill fled with the witch in his arms. Dylan found out about Calliope’s presence in the settlement and went to find her. Adrielle returned home, luckily, Calliope escaped. Unfortunately, Adrielle discovered Bill and the witch attempting to escape, she killed the witch and took Bill prisoner. Augie was captured by some of Gregori’s men. Adrielle publicly executed Bill. Adrielle sent another of her subjects to find and kill Calliope. Corey found Callope and took her to see her father’s corpse.
