In the previous episode of Netflix’s GLOW, the GLOW ladies took a showgirl dance class. In GLOW Season 3 Episode 4, the ladies were obsessed with a drag queen, and Russell visited Ruth for the weekend.
Auditions and Additions
Throughout the episode, performers ambushed Bash to audition for the show. He was thrilled and enthralled each time. Bash would add them to the show on the spot for Debbie to figure out how to work them in.
The ladies went to see Bobby Barnes perform. Fan-Tan’s drag show was a hit. Rhonda brought Bobby, out of drag, to the penthouse to meet Bash. Bobby wanted Bash to give him a chance and produce a big show. Bash saw an amazing performance of “Yes” with Bobby as Liza Minelli. This time, Bash said no.
What’s Wrong with Cherry?
Keith had gone back to LA, supposedly for a job, which left the show without a referee. With the spontaneous additions to the show, Carmen wanted to use them as an opportunity to revive a stale show. The magician could make Cherry disappear during the fight. However, Cherry wasn’t happy about not being in the show. Carmen’s brother, Kurt, was visiting while touring with his own wrestling show. He thought Carmen should go on the road with him. She was good enough now, and Kurt felt it was beneath her to be doing the same show every night.
Debbie had slept with every eligible man that worked at the Fan-Tan. On her way to her room with one of the jugglers, she checked on Cherry. Debbie smoked weed with Cherry. Cherry explained her fight with Keith, and Debbie admitted she wished she never got married and had her son.
Actress and She-Wolf
Sheila was practicing her acting in the hallway. It bothered Sam since he was trying to write. When Sheila told him about Russell, he invited Sheila inside to read his script. However, Sheila questioned why the woman’s lines and story were so secondary to the male main character. Sam hadn’t thought about her backstory at all.
During the drag show, Bobby asked Sheila where she was from, but she wouldn’t answer. During Bobby’s performance for Bash, Sheila had been in the room. When Bobby went back to the dressing room, upset and disappointed, Sheila answered that she was from Baltimore, and Bobby worked on Sheila’s wig.
Long Distance
Russell and Ruth had sex immediately after his arrival during the show. He was finally getting to see how she lived. She brought up possibly moving in together after the show’s run ended. During the afternoon, they went to a Vegas pawn shop. Russell looked at cameras, while the shop owner showed Ruth some engagement rings. Ruth bought him a Nikon that she couldn’t afford.
When Ruth found out that Sam let Sheila read his work in progress, she obsessed over it verbally to Russell. They got into an argument where Russell voiced his concerns over moving too fast. Together, they concluded that talking to each other every night was too much. The distance put too much pressure on Russell’s visit.
