Fall TV Preview 2015
Fall is my favorite time of year, for one reason: the new fall TV season. While it has become easier to get through the summer with more new television than ever before, networks still roll out their big new shows in the fall, and that is when all the old favorites come back.
There are some great new shows on the horizon. I think I am particularly excited for The Muppets, (I was literally raised on “The Muppets”), “Scream Queens” (I am not a Ryan Murphy fan, but I am a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis and ridiculous amounts of gore), “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” and “The X-Files” (because how could you not be excited for those?!) Here is a quick guide to some of the coolest-looking shows to hit the small screen this fall and early winter.
And in case you’re wondering, I did not include any returning shows (I think we all know what to expect from The Flash and Arrow) and I did not include anything from mid-season that didn’t have a premiere date yet (which is why there is no slide for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow).

Fear The Walking Dead
Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC. Premieres August 23.
Living in the same universe as “The Walking Dead,” “Fear the Walking Dead” is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

The Bastard Executioner
Tuesdays on FX. Premieres September 15.
"The Bastard Executioner" is a blood-soaked, medieval epic that tells the story of Wilkin Brattle, a 14th century warrior, whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner. Set in northern Wales during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval, Wilkin must walk a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving a mysterious destiny.

Blindspot
Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC. Premieres September 21
A vast international plot explodes when a beautiful Jane Doe is discovered naked in Times Square, completely covered in mysterious, intricate tattoos with no memory of who she is or how she got there. There’s one that’s very clear, however: the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller, emblazoned across her back. “Jane,” Agent Weller and rest of the FBI quickly realize that each mark on her body is a crime to solve, leading them closer to the truth about her identity and the mysteries to be revealed. From executive producer Greg Berlanti ("The Flash," "Arrow") and starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander.

Minority Report
Mondays at 9 p.m. on FOX. Premieres September 21.
Set 10 years after the demise of the Precrime unit, "Minority Report" follows the partnership between a Precog haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes before they happen.

Limitless
Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS. Premieres September 22.
Based on the feature film, "Limitless" is a new fast-paced drama about Brian Finch, who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them.

Scream Queens
Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on FOX. Premieres September 22.
Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, Chanel Oberlin. But when anti-Kappa Dean Munsch decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time. This horror-comedy comes from the good folks who brought you "Glee" and "American Horror Story."

Heroes Reborn
Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Premieres September 24.
Tim Kring brings his groundbreaking series "Heroes" back for a 13-episode "event series." "Heroes Reborn" will focus on new heroes with new powers, but promises appearances from old favorites like Hiro, Suresh, and Matt Parkman.

Supergirl
Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS. Special premiere October 26 at 8:30 p.m. Time slot premiere November 2.
Based on the DC COMICS' character Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant, who just hired the Daily Planet's former photographer, James Olsen, as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when the head of a super-secret agency where her foster sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.

Ash vs. Evil Dead
Saturdays at 9 p.m. on Starz. Premieres October 31.
Bruce Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Into the Badlands
Sundays at 10 p.m. on AMC. Premieres November 15.
“Into the Badlands” is set centuries from now, where a feudal society has emerged and the strongest and most brutal rose to wealth and power. This area came to be called the Badlands, and is divided among seven rival Barons who control the resources necessary to daily life and enforce their rule with the aid of loyal armies known as Clippers. Clippers enjoy status and comforts the general population can only dream of, and they are willing to sacrifice their lives in service to their Barons. Few Clippers ever live to see their 30th birthday, but Sunny is no ordinary Clipper. Demonstrating lethal proficiency in martial arts, Sunny rose swiftly through the ranks to become Quinn’s Head Clipper and most trusted advisor.

The X-Files
Mondays at 8 p.m.on FOX. Special premiere January 24 at 10 p.m. Time slot premiere January 25.
No one is talking about the plot, but with series creator Chris Carter and iconic stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning for this six-episode event series, "The X-Files" is sure to recapture the attention of its fans.
