Lucasfilm and DisneyXD‘s Star Wars Rebels Season 3 was the biggest and best season yet of what is turning out to be, arguably, the best post-Lucas Star Wars project so far. There’s a lot of things the show does better than the movies have been, so we’re pointing out the 10 Things from Rebels Season 3 We Want in Star Wars Movies, which you can check out in the gallery below! Star Wars Rebels was created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg.

Star Wars Rebels Season 3 features the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr. (I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall (Young Justice) as Hera, Steve Blum (The Boxtrolls, Cowboy Bebop) as Zeb, Tiya Sircar (The Good Place, Master of None) as Sabine, Taylor Gray (Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures) as Ezra, Dee Bradley Baker (American Dad, Phineas and Ferb) as Captain Rex and David Oyelowo (Selma and The Butler) as Agent Kallus.

10 Things from Rebels Season 3 We Want in Star Wars Movies

Grand Admiral Thrawn

First introduced in Timothy Zahn's 1991 expanded universe novel "Heir to the Empire" as a foe of the post-Return of the Jedi galaxy, he has been resurrected and repurposed as the main adversary of the newly-formed Rebel Alliance in the pre-A New Hope world. That means that he could show up in either a spin-off film or as a much older character in the current Saga sequels. His strategic prowess makes him a formidable adversary, and if we were fan-casting we would choose Jeremy Irons to bring him to life on the big screen.
Bendu

"The one in the middle," the Bendu represent force users aligned with neither the light side nor the dark, and represent a kind of benign nihilism within the force. As voiced by former Doctor Who actor Tom Baker on Rebels, Bendu is a major player who has power beyond anything we've seen wielded by a Jedi or a Sith. He is also somewhat reminiscent of Treebeard in the "Lord of the Rings" world.
Obi-Wan Kenobi

While Obi-Wan was a major player in both Saga trilogies, he has only made a very minor vocal cameo in The Force Awakens that is little more than an Easter egg. The Rebels episode "Twin Suns" featured the return of an older Ben Kenobi as originally portrayed by Alec Guinness (and reverently voiced here by Stephen Stanton), and his old sage samurai presence was a breath of fresh air. Kenobi is one of the wisest and most resilient characters in all of Star Wars, and is very deserving of the standalone film Lucasfilm is currently in development on. It will be great to see Ewan McGregor play an aging Kenobi, possibly on a Butch & Sundance-style adventure with Joel Edgerton's Uncle Owen!
Blurrgs

As seen in the Season 3 episode "Hera's Heroes," these cute little spuds were originally stop-motion creations in the 1985 TV movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. They were one of the most memorable things from that ultimately forgettable TV movie, and with their appearances in both Clone Wars and Rebels, we hope its not long before they make their inevitable big screen debut, at least as a cameo!
Saw Gerrera

Forest Whitaker made a big impression as the battle-hardened rebel extremist Saw Gerrera (originally a Clone Wars character) in last year's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The Oscar winner reprised the role vocally for this season of Rebels, and will return again in Season 4, though we hope he can be integrated into other spin-off movies so we can see him during his prime played by Whitaker.
Holocrons

Essentially jump drives for both Jedi and the Sith, these powerful baubles containing key information about the force would make a terrific MacGuffin for someone to go after in either a Saga or spin-off film. Be careful when you put two of them together, though...
The Darksaber

An early lightsaber of mysterious origin passed down through generations of Mandaloreans in House Vizsla, it wound up in the hands of Darth Maul and eventually back to a very particular Mandalorean: Sabine Wren. While we've already expressed our desire to see Sabine on the big screen, it would be even cooler if she became proficient with the blade and possibly even tapped into latent Jedi abilities.
Wedge Antilles

This hero of the Original Trilogy was given an origin story this season with a slightly younger Wedge being rescued from the Imperial academy by the crew of The Ghost. Although original actor Denis Lawson turned down a mere cameo in The Force Awakens, we hope Lucasfilm will wise-up and offer him a real meaty role in a future Saga film as Wedge is without question a fan fav.
Sacrifice

During the Season 3 finale's Battle of Atollon, Commander Sato heroically sacrificed himself and his ship Phoenix Home to allow Ezra to escape and seek help for the rebels. We haven't really seen that sort of deliberate sacrifice in the films since Obi-Wan in A New Hope. Yes, Han Solo and the entire Rogue One crew bit the dust, but they didn't lay themselves over barbed wire like Sato did here, and it would be cool to see more significant moments of sacrifice like this.
AP 5

We love AP-5 for his grumpy attitude and the fact that Stephen Stanton based his voice on the late actor Alan Rickman. His portrayal is basically a Star Wars version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's Marvin The Paranoid Android (who Rickman also played). Even a small cameo in a future Star Wars movie installment would make us happy, but he would also make for a great side character.
