Smallville’s Tom Welling reprising Superman role for Arrowverse crossver
Tom Welling (Lucifer), the original WB/CW Clark Kent, will be reprising his Superman role for The CW’s Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed.

Three Supermen will be featured in the crossover, including Welling, Tyler Hoechlin (Supergirl), and Brandon Routh (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Superman Returns).
“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement,” said crossover EP Marc Guggenheim.
Smallville ran for 10 seasons between 2001-2011. The series followed Clark Kent’s journey from small-town high school hero to a superhero living in Metropolis. Throughout the series, Clark never flew or wore a cape or tights. In the series finale, however, Clark essentially became Superman, donning the famous outfit and ability to fly in order to defeat the show’s final big bad, Darkseid.
