Ahead of the premiere for Cloak & Dagger’s highly-anticipated crossover episode with Marvel’s Runaways, Deadline reports that Freeform has unfortunately decided not to give their Marvel superhero series a third season renewal. The cancellation also comes in the wake of executive producer Jeph Loeb’s impending departure as the head of Marvel Television.
“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform said in a statement. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”
Fans of the show will still have the chance to see Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt as Cloak & Dagger in the upcoming third season premiere of Marvel’s Runaways on December 13, exclusively on Hulu.
