Following Tell Me a Story‘s second season premiere last December, Deadline brings word that CBS All Access has officially decided not to give Kevin Williamson’s psychological thriller anthology series a third season renewal. In addition, Tell Me a Story will also be making its broadcast TV debut as The CW successfully acquired the rights to the cancelled series.
“The brilliant Kevin Williamson, brought our favorite fairy tales to life in an anthology format that twisted and subverted the stories we all know into modern thrillers,” CBS All Access EVP Original Content, Julie McNamara said in a statement. “It has been a privilege to work with such an elite and talented group of creative minds like Kevin, Aaron Kaplan and the team at Kapital Entertainment, as well as the amazing cast of Tell Me A Story, who did a phenomenal job personifying and reinventing beloved characters from these six fairy tales.”
Seasons 1-2 will continue to be available on CBS All Access across its platforms with the second season streaming exclusively on CBS All Access until the fourth quarter of 2020.

Tell Me a Story takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interwove “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel” into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge, and murder. The second season will move on to focus on a story interweaving “Beauty and the Beast,” “Sleeping Beauty” and “Cinderella.”
The first season starred James Wolk, Billy Magnusses, Dania Ramirez, Danielle Campbell, and Kim Catrall while the second season included Paul Wesley, Odette Annable, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Natalie Alyn Lind.

From Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Tell Me a Story was written and executive produced by Kevin Williamson alongside Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Liz Friedlander, who directed and executive produced the first two episodes.
