According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS All Access has officially decided to pull the plug on their true crime drama series Interrogation and will no longer be returning for a second season. This cancellation comes after nine months since the Kyle Gallner-led non-linear series had debuted its 10-episode first season earlier this year.
“Anders Weidemann, John Mankiewicz and Fabrik Entertainment’s unique approach to exploring an unsolved true-crime in Interrogation allowed the audience to follow their own investigative path of evidence and suspecting characters throughout a 10-episode arc,” Exec VP and head of programming at CBS All Access, Julie McNamara said in a statement. “They led an amazing team of writers, directors and cast, all of whom delivered a close-ended season that will continue to be available on CBS All Access for new viewers to discover and enjoy.”

Interrogation is a new concept based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years. The show will follow a young man (Kyle Gallner) who was charged and convicted of the brutal murder of his mother. After being sentenced to life in prison, he spends the next two decades fighting to prove his innocence.
What sets Interrogation apart is that the episodes were made to be watched in any order. With all the episodes on the CBS All Access streaming platform, the audience can jump back and forth in time while they witness this man’s story unfold in multiple timelines. Each episode of the series was structured around an interrogation taken directly from the real police case files, which will turn the viewer into a detective, so to speak. The series starred Golden Globe nominee Peter Sarsgaard (Shattered Glass), Kyle Gallner (Veronica Mars, Smallville), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In) and Oscar nominee David Strathairn (Goodnight, Goodluck). It also featured Daredevil alum Vincent D’Onofrio, Joanna Going, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Andre Royo.
Interrogation was co-created by Swedish writer-producer Anders Weidemann and John Mankiewicz, who were also executive producers along with Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.
