Emmy and Golden Globe winner Donald Glover took to Instagram to reveal a new behind-the-scenes set photo, confirming that production on the long-awaited third season of FX’s Atlanta has begun. This comes three years since the series wrapped its 11-episode second season in 2018, which was nominated for multiple Emmy awards including Outstanding Comedy series. Featuring Glover, Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry, you can check out the set photo below!
Earlier this year, it was reported that the network was planning to shoot the third and fourth seasons back-to-back in Europe. The series was originally scheduled to return last January. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the production start was delayed to this year.

Atlanta is also executive produced by Stephen Glover, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle and Hiro Murai. The first season was an instant hit to viewers and critics and had won two major Golden Globe Awards including Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in Comedy Series for Glover’s leading performance.
The production for the third season was delayed a few times due to the busy schedules of the main cast, who all went on to star in a number of high-profile projects. In 2019, the series secured an early fourth season renewal.
