New Falcon and the Winter Soldier Clip Pokes Fun at The Big Three Villains of MCU

Sebastian Stan: Kevin Feige Has No Ego, So The Best Idea Always Wins

Sebastian Stan: Kevin Feige has no ego, the best idea always wins

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is undoubtedly one of the main reasons why the Marvel Cinematic Universe became the mega-blockbuster franchise it is known today. In a recent interview with Collider, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan reiterates Feige’s vital role in the success of previous and upcoming MCU projects, praising how he has always loved working with Feige because of the Marvel producer’s humbleness and consistent passion.

“I think one of the things about him that I feel like I’ve loved always is how modest he is and how he really is unbelievably grateful when something works,” Stan said on Feige. “10 years in, 11 years, how many years now, I feel like that childlike exuberance is always there. You see the flicker in his eyeballs as he lights up and when you talk about a character he loves. … I think he’s in love with what he does, and I think that’s a big part of why there’s a consistent passion there from him to always find interesting ways to tell the story that make sense.”

He continued to praise Feige and the studio’s willingness to take risks in order to give more depth to its characters, “I dunno, he doesn’t get a lot of credit for that, actually, I feel like. I thought WandaVision was a really big fucking creative take. And you know Loki’s gonna be its own thing, right? And again, our tone is very different because we were in the tone of the movies, and it’s a much more grounded way. But again, now we’re developing this sort of buddy comedy aspect to these guys. There’s comedy to this Winter Soldier character that never was there before. And [Feige is] a people’s person, he surrounded himself with the best. And his thing is always, the best idea wins. There’s no ego there, man, and you know that’s a huge, huge, huge thing.”

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier

Starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier picks up from the events in which Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, was gifted the iconic vibranium shield from Steve Rogers in order to take up the mantle of Captain America while Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, retains his moniker but uses it for heroism instead. Despite this, Sam seeks to forge his own path and retire the Cap moniker to properly honor Steve’s legacy while Bucky undergoes therapeutic treatment to correct the wrongs of his past, but when a new threat to the world emerges, and the US decides to elect a new Cap with more questionable morals, the titular duo must team up on a global adventure that will test their abilities — and their patience.

Directed by Kari Skogland, the six-episode series is written by head writer Malcolm Spellman with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad also part of the series’ writing/creative team.
