Variety is reporting that a She-Ra live-action series is in early development at Amazon Prime Video, with the project reportedly focusing on a new, standalone story that is not connected to the animated series.

DreamWorks Animation, which produced Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, will executive produce the series that is currently in “very early stages.”
If the series is picked up, it would mark the first live-action adaptation of the character She-Ra, who first debuted in the 1985 animated movie He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword as part of the Masters of the Universe franchise.
She-Ra’s initial spinoff, She-Ra: Princess of Power, ran for two seasons between 1985 and 1986. The series followed Princess Adora (voiced by Melendy Britt) who “raises her magic sword and becomes She-Ra, the most powerful woman in the universe, to aid her friends in defeating the Evil Horde so their planet Etheria can be free,” according to the official synopsis.
