ComingSoon is pleased to debut a cover of The Cure’s “In Between Days” by Luamel, a new single from the series Pachinko.
The Korean band Luamel puts an energetic spin on the classic song and the cover appears in Episode 4 of the Apple TV+ series, which will premiere on April 1. The critically acclaimed dramatic series is told in three languages—Korean, Japanese, and English. Lakeshore Records will release the single on April 1 and the score album by Nico Muhly is also available.

“The music for Pachinko had some heavy lifting to do: the show gracefully skips around from Japan to Korea, from the 1930s to the 1980s, and everywhere in between,” says Muhly. “The music had to bridge these time periods, bind the characters together, and keep the audience focused on the incredible performances on the screen. I immediately decided that the music had to be simultaneously acoustic and electronic, to avoid needing to immediately change “styles” with every change of period. Instead of writing themes for each character, I tried to establish a sort of “family tree” of material, which all stems from Sunja, her mother, and father.”
