So far, neither the critics nor the general audience has been in much favor of Surface. The series currently has a critic score of 44% based on 25 ratings while its audience rating is frozen at 50%. Though Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s performance in the series has been lauded, the clichéd storyline has been derided for its predictability.
