Neve Campbell has been tapped to play the lead in ABC’s upcoming drama series Avalon, according to a recent report from Deadline.

Campbell’s appearance in the series will mark her second collaboration with director David E. Kelley after appearing in the first season of Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer. Currently, no other casting information for Avalon has been made known, although it’s likely to start filling out soon now that a lead has been found.
The series stems from a short story by author Michael Connelly and takes place in the city of Avalon on Catalina Island. The story is set to follow L.A. Sheriff’s Department Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy (Campbell), who operates out of a small office in the town. The series will then follow Searcy as she’s dragged into a mystery the island has never seen before, and something that can make or break her career as a detective.

According to the report, Campbell’s character will be assigned to the substation on Catalina Island after her no-holds-barred approach gets her reprimanded. Despite not wanting to move, Campbell’s detective skills will be needed to help solve what will soon become a huge mystery in the small city of Avalon. Currently, no release date for the series has been set, though ABC did order it straight-to-series earlier this year.
