Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue: Will & Grace’s Eric McCormack Joins MGM+ Mystery Thriller

According to Deadline, Emmy winner Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) has been tapped to portray one of the leads in the upcoming limited drama Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, which had just received an official series order at MGM+.

“Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a clever and wildly entertaining addition to MGM+’s growing slate of edge-of-your-seat thrillers,” MGM+ boss Michael Wright said in a statement. “Anthony Horowitz has spun a masterfully inventive web of deception and intrigue that keeps audiences guessing until the very last ax falls.”

McCormack will be playing a former doctor named Kevin, one of the show’s six leading characters who has been purchasing medical supplies in Guatemala. Production is expected to begin sometime this May in the Canary Islands.

What is Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue about?

“It follows the tale of nine strangers who find themselves lost in a remote Mexican jungle after their small plane traveling from Guatemala to the U.S. crashes,” reads the logline. “One by one, the survivors are murdered, leaving the remaining passengers to solve the terrifying mystery before they too fall victim to the killer.”

Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is written, created, and executive produced by Anthony Horowitz, who originally developed the project for the short-lived streaming platform Quibi. The six-part mystery thriller is also executive produced by Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez for Eleventh Hour Films.
