The Simpsons’ May The 12th Be With You Short Celebrates Star Wars & Mother’s Day

To celebrate this year’s annual Star Wars Day and Mother’s Day, Disney+ will be releasing a brand new The Simpsons short film, titled May the 12th Be With You, featuring Marge Simpson. It is scheduled to start streaming on Friday, May 10.

May the 12th Be With You will be the first time that Maggie Simpson won’t be leading one of the long-running animated show’s Star Wars-themed short film, after previously leading 2021’s Emmy-nominated The Force Awakens From Its Nap and 2023’s Rogue Not Quite One. It is also the latest installment in a series of Disney+ shorts from The Simpsons that highlight the service’s marquee brands and titles. This includes The Simpsons meet the Bocellis in Feliz Navidad, The Good, The Bart, and The Loki, The Simpsons in Plusaversary, Welcome to the Club, and When Billie Met Lisa. These are all currently available on Disney+.

“It’s Mother’s Day and Marge Simpson joins the moms of Disney+ on a special holiday outing that turns into an epic galactic adventure filled with heroes, villains and a surprising old friend,” reads the logline for the newest short.

Who’s involved in The Simpsons?

Created by Matt Groening (Futurama, Disenchantment), The Simpsons has been on air for more than three decades. Since then, it has been staple in pop culture. The voice cast consists of Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson, Julie Kavner as his wife Marge, Nancy Cartwright as Bart, and Yeardley Smith as Lisa.
