Criminal: Adria Arjona to Star in Adaptation of Ed Brubaker Graphic Novel

Adria Arjona is set to star in the upcoming TV series adaptation of Ed Brubaker’s hit graphic novel Criminal.

Arjona (Hit Man, Andor) joins the series as a series regular, and will star opposite the previously announced Richard Jenkins as Greta, “sharp-tongued top-level car thief and driver and the widowed mother of Angie.

“Ever since her husband died in a bank job gone bad, Greta has been battling with herself about how to escape the only life she’s ever known,” according to a report from Deadline.

Deadline previously reported that Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden would direct the first four episodes of the upcoming series. Currently, no other casting information is available, and no release information has been set as of yet.

What is Criminal about?

Originally released in 2006, Criminal is an ongoing comic series originally published by Marvel Comics and now published by Image Comics.

The series follows various self-contained stories that focus on different characters, all of whom grew up in the fictional Center City, and often frequent the same bar and share a history of growing up in the world of crime.

Arjona is currently starring in Richard Linklater’s latest Netflix film Hit Man, where she stars alongside Glen Powell. She also rose to fame for her role in Disney+’s Star Wars series Andor, where she played Bix Caleen. Arjona also appeared in HBO’s True Detective Season 2, as well as in Netflix’s Narcos and HBO’s Irma Vep.
