The Beauty cast continues to expand, with Variety reporting that the upcoming FX series from Ryan Murphy has added Rebecca Hall to its ensemble.
Hall’s current role in the upcoming project is unknown as of now, and while plot details remain under wraps at this time, The Beauty is based on Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley’s comic book series, published by Image Comics.
Hall has starred in a number of high-profile projects, including in Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige, The Town, Godzilla vs. Kong and its sequel, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and The Night House. Hall’s upcoming projects include the 2025 Peter Hujar’s Day and Ella McCay.
Who else is in The Beauty cast?
The series will star Evan Peters, who has worked with Murphy a number of times before, alongside Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. Peters, Ramos, and Pope will also serve as executive producers.
“Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty,” a description of the comic reads. “What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is only one sexual encounter away. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Vaughn and Foster will soon discover it comes at a terrible cost. Now, they’ll have to find their way past corrupt politicians, vengeful federal agents, and a terrifying mercenary out to collect the price on their heads.”
Murphy is co-creating, writing, and executive producing the television show alongside Matt Hodgson.
According to Deadline, the series will have both a male and female lead. “Search is underway for an actress to join Peters, Ramos, Pope, and Kutcher, so it’s possible that she and one of the four, likely Peters, could play Vaughn and Foster, respectively,” the article reads. “Kutcher is thought to be playing a tech billionaire.”
Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, and Eric Gitter will also serve as executive producers on The Beauty, which is produced by 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television.
