The upcoming reboot will see Malcolm reuniting with his family for Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary. The official logline reads: “Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”

Boomer is returning as the reboot’s writer and executive producer, with Cranston serving as one of the executive producers. Ken Kwapis is set to direct all four episodes and will also serve as the executive producer.

The beloved sitcom aired on Fox for seven seasons, spanning a total of 151 episodes. It ran from 2000 to 2006. It also starred Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Erik Per Sullivan, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield.

“‘Malcolm in the Middle’ is a landmark sitcom that captured the essence of family life with humor, heart and relatability. Its hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of a lovably chaotic family resonated with audiences of all ages, and we’re so excited to welcome the original cast back to bring that magic to life again,” said Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis (via Variety).
