Warning: Spoilers for the season 2 finale of The Flash!
The Scarlet Speedster himself, Grant Gustin, took to Twitter today to tease that he’s finally gotten his hands on The Flash Season 3 premiere script and has revealed the episode’s title, and confirmed its comic book basis, is none other than “Flashpoint.”
In the season 2 finale of The Flash, Barry went back in time to do what he couldn’t before: save his mother from dying at the hands of The Reverse Flash. Barry did the same thing in the pages of DC Comics in the event and as a result fundamentally altered the world of the DCU. Some notable changes made as a result of his actions in the comics included Captain Cold being the hero of Central City, the Justice League not existing, Wonder Woman’s Amazonians and Aquaman’s Atlanteans being engaged in a worldwide war, Bruce Wayne being the one who died in the alley and not his parents inspiring his father to become Batman (and his mother The Joker), and Superman being kept in an underground base for years after being found by the military; among others.
What sorts of things will be changed for The Flash‘s version of Flashbpoint? It remains to be seen, but sound off with your best guesses of what will change in the comments below!
The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramo, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West. Season 2 of the series also introduced Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and the Earth-2 version of The Flash as played by John Wesley Shipp (who also played Barry’s father, Henry Allen). The Flash season 3 premiere is already set to debut on The CW on Tuesday, October 4 at 8 PM ET.
