New The Deuce trailer has James Franco navigating the ’70s porn racket
HBO has revealed the latest trailer for its new series, The Deuce. Created by author George Pelecanos alongside The Wire‘s David Simon, The Deuce follows the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, exploring the rough-and-tumble world at the pioneering moments of what would become the billion-dollar American sex industry. Set for an eight episode first season, The Deuce will premiere Sunday, September 10 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The series’ cast includes James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Lawrence Giliard Jr., Dominique Fishback, Emily Meade, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Emmanuel Akoto, Chris Bauer and many more. David Krumholtz, Zoe Kazan, Ralph Macchio and Method Man also have recurring roles.
George Pelecanos, David Simon, James Franco and Nina K. Noble serve as the series’ executive producers.
