Lucifer Reunion Special Celebrates the Show’s Resurrection on Netflix

Now that Lucifer has been born again on Netflix, the cast of the supernatural series gathered together for the Lucifer Reunion Special ahead of the fourth season premiere on Netflix tomorrow, May 8. Needless to say, the mood was jovial. You can get a sense of what to expect from the latest season in the lengthy 24-minute conversation below!

Lucifer tells the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. The show was abruptly canceled by Fox after its third season earlier this year.

The cancellation news initially gutted fans, who began a social media outcry for another network to save the series with the hashtag “#SaveLucifer,” which landed as the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter for a spell. Cast members from the show, including Tom Ellis and Aimee Garcia, had been very appreciative of all of the fan support and held out hope in interviews that there was still a chance and after producer Warner Bros. TV shopped it around to other networks, Netflix proved to be the savior for the series.

Lucifer is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Aggressive Mediocrity. The series is vaguely based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC’s Vertigo imprint, and is executive-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer. Kapinos serves as an executive consultant on the series.

Season 4 of Lucifer will kick off May 8 on Netflix.
