Hulu has released the first teaser for creator and cartoonist Keith Knight’s forthcoming timely comedy series titled Woke, featuring Lamorne Morris as his character experiences a new awakening when he has started acknowledging the social issues that surrounds him. This marks Morris’ first major series as the leading star after two year since starring in Fox’s New Girl. The series will be available for streaming on Wednesday, September 9. Woke follows the story of an African-American cartoonist living in San Francisco, who is finally on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. Keef must now navigate the new voices and ideas that confront and challenge him, all without setting aflame everything he’s already built.
The series is written and executive produced by cartoonist Keith Knight, who have based the story on his own personal experiences with racial profiling and showcases how black culture influenced his work. It also incorporates traditional live-action elements fused with animated sequences that will bring Keef’s cartoons to life in unique ways.

Woke will be executive produced by Marshall Todd and John Will along with Olive Bridge Entertainment’s Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz. It is a production by Olive Bridge Entertainment and Cloud Nine Prods with Will Gluck, Eric Christian Olsen and Kate Schumaecher also executive producing.
