The official trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s newest Madagascar prequel series titled Madagascar: A Little Wild has been released, featuring the young versions of the film series’ beloved animal characters Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo. All episodes of the animated series will be available for streaming on Monday, September 7 on both Hulu and Peacock. Check out the video in the player below!

In Madagascar: A Little Wild, join your fave friends, Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman as they grow up in the wildest jungle of all: New York City! The sky’s the limit as they bust out of their rescue habitat at the zoo for adventures and pursue their dreams in the city.
The animated spinoff will feature the voices of Tucker Chandler (I Lost My Body), Amir O’Neil (Mann and Wife), Shaylin Becton (Fast & Furious: Spy Racers), and Luke Lowe (Big City Greens), who are voicing the lead roles of Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman which were first voiced by Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith and David Schwimmer in the films. The series will also include Jasmine Gatewood (Animal Kingdom) as Kate and Eric Petersen (Kirstie) as Ant’Ney.

Madagascar: A Little Wild is executive produced by Johanna Stein (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) and Dana Starfield (Monster High: Welcome to Monster High). It is also expected to feature original music.
Since Madagascar‘s successful theatrical release in 2005, it was immediately followed by two sequels (Escape 2 Africa, Europe’s Most Wanted) and a spinoff film (Penguins of Madagascar) which collectively grossed over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. The upcoming series will mark the third TV spinoff and the first one centered on the four main characters following the Nickelodeon’s The Penguins of Madagascar and Netflix’s All Hail King Julien.
