Hulu has revealed the official trailer for the upcoming limited drama series The Dropout, which stars Oscar nominee Amanda Seyfried as Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. It is scheduled to make its debut on March 3, 2022, with the release of the first three episodes.
The Dropout trailer, which you can check out below along with the key art, highlights a college dropout’s idea about a portable blood-testing machine that could potentially change the world. However, due to her greed for success and fame, her idea spirals into a great big deception.

Based on the ABC News podcast, The Dropout tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos in a tale of ambition and fame gone wrong. It will explore what caused the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire, once heralded as “the next Steve Jobs,” to lose everything in the blink of an eye.
The miniseries will be led by Amanda Seyfried, who signed on to the project earlier this year after Kate McKinnon exited the leading role that she had been attached to since 2019.
Joining Seyfried are Naveen Andrews, William H. Macy, Laurie Metcalf, Elizabeth Marvel, Stephen Fry, Alan Ruck, Sam Waterston, Kate Burton, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Bill Irwin, Dylan Minnette, Mary Lynn Rajskub, and more.
