Mark Ruffalo HBO Crime Show Task Gets Gripping Trailer

HBO has shared the official Task trailer for its newest crime drama series, which hails from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby. The limited drama is scheduled to make its debut on September 7 on HBO and HBO Max.

“Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man,” reads the show’s logline.

Who is in the Task trailer?

The trailer introduces the show’s main cast, led by Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent named Tom. This marks the Marvel vet’s latest collaboration with HBO, after previously starring in the acclaimed miniseries I Know This Much Is True in 2020, which won him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. Joining Ruffalo are Tom Pelphrey as Robbie, Emilia Jones as Maeve, Thuso Mbedu as Aleah, Fabien Frankel as Anthony, Raúl Castillo as Cliff, Sam Keeley as Jayson, Jamie McShane as Perry, and Alison Oliver as Lizzie.

Task is created, written, and executive produced by showrunner Brad Ingelsby. Additional cast members include Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, Martha Plimpton, Owen Teague, Margarita Levieva, Mireille Enos, and more. The seven-episode series is executive produced by Ruffalo, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee, David Crockett, Ron Schmidt, Nicole Jordan-Webber, and Jeremy Yaches.

Besides the HBO show, Ruffalo will also next be seen in the upcoming movies such as Crime 101 with Barry Keoghan and Halle Berry, and in the romantic comedy Good Sex with Natalie Portman and Meg Ryan. In addition, the Marvel vet is also being rumored to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Tom Holland’s highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day .
