According to Deadline, the Russo Brothers is teaming up with Universal Pictures to develop an English remake of Saigon Bodyguards, based on Ken Ochai’s Vietnamese action-comedy film of the same name. Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt and Chinese blockbuster star Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior) have officially signed on for the leading roles in the project.

Saigon Bodyguards remake will center around two friends, one a straight arrow and the other a doof, who try to find a corporate heir who got kidnapped right under their noses. The film is being co-written by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck (Veep).
The film will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo along with Mike Larocca through their AGBO production banner. On top of starring, Pratt has also been set as a producer through his Indivisible production with Matt Reilly and Kassee Whiting overseeing the project on behalf of the Universal and AGBO, respectively.

Saigon Bodyguards remake marks the latest collaboration between Pratt and the Russo Brothers after working together on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Pratt will next be seen in the upcoming action films such as The Tomorrow War and Jurassic World: Dominion.
