With Fruits Basket The Final Season currently underway, the anime is surely tugging at the heartstrings of its viewers. It seems that notion will only get stronger as the voice for Katsuya Honda has officially been cast.
Announced on Funimation’s website, it was revealed that Yoshimasa Hosoya and J. Michael Tatam will be lending their voices to Katsuya Honda in Fruits Basket The Final Season Japanese sub and English dub respectively.

Those unfamiliar with Hosoya’s work may have heard his voice as Sosuke Yamazaki in Free! -Eternal Summer-, Asahi Azumane in Haikyu!, and Otabek Altin in Yuri!!! on ICE. Tatum is no stranger to anime VO as he has landed roles as Erwin Smith in Attack on Titan, Sebastian Michaelis in Black Butler, and Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia.
Fruits Basket The Final Season premiered its first episode on Funimation back in March, two weeks before its Japan television premiere in April. Both Funimation and Crunchyroll are streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.
This is not the first surprise casting Fruits Basket The Final Season has received. Just a couple weeks ago, it was announced Hiroshi Kamiya and Matt Mercer is the voice of God in the Japanese sub and English dub versions respectively.

Fruits Basket began as a manga series written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. It was serialized in Hana to Yume and was published between 1998 and 2006. It received a couple of sequels titled Fruits Basket Another and The Three Musketeers Arc.
The current anime television adaptation of Fruits Basket premiered in 2019 and is produced by TMS Entertainment. The Studio Deen produced and Akitaro Daichi-directed anime adaptation premiered back in 2001.
