It’s not exactly a surprise, given that the PlayStation Twitter account spoiled it a few days ago, but THQ Nordic has now officially announced the Destroy All Humans! 2 remake titled Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed. The game still doesn’t have a release date (it’s listed as “soon”), but it is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The announcement came with two trailers: the one PlayStation tweeted out and another music-related one where Crypto sings Rammstein’s “Amerika.” Both give hints at the gameplay, which seems to update and translate existing mechanics likes Transmogrifying objects for ammo, using the hypnotizing Free Love ability, abducting humans in the saucer, and more. It also showed most of the sequel’s levels, which are Bay City, Albion, Takoshima Island, and Tunguska that are based on San Francisco, London, Tokyo, and Siberia, respectively. The Steam page also lists that the game will have full split-screen two-player co-op throughout like the original. Online co-op is not mentioned.

No PS4, Xbox One, or Switch versions were announced, despite the remake of the first game appearing on those platforms. The leaked trailer from PlayStation did mention a PS4 version, but it appears to not exist, at least for the time being. However, the official Xbox Store page says the game is on Xbox One so it’s unclear at this point what the deal is.
