Supernatural vet Misha Collins took to Twitter to announce that he has signed on for his next project with The CW in form of the upcoming Gotham Knights pilot. The 47-year-old actor is set to portray the role of popular DC villain Harvey Dent, who is better known as Two-Face. This marks Castiel’s first major TV project in nearly two years since wrapping up his 12 year-run as the angel Castiel in the hit dark fantasy drama Supernatural.

Harvey Dent has been previously portrayed by various actors over the years including Billy Dee Williams in 1989’s Batman, Tommy Lee Jones in 1995’s Batman Forever, and Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.

Gotham Knights will be led by a young cast including Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, and Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes.
“In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader,” reads the synopsis. “And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.”
The live-action DC pilot is written and executive produced by Batwoman writers Natalie Abrams (Supergirl, All American) and Chad Fiveash & James Stoteraux (The Vampire Diaries, Gotham), based on the DC Comics characters that were created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

The series will be produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Waner Bros. Television. Executive producers include Fiveash, Stoteraux, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden, with Abrams co-executive producing.
It has been confirmed that the pilot won’t be a spin-off to the network’s Javicia Leslie-led Arrowverse series, nor will it tie into the upcoming Gotham Knights video game developed by WB Games Montreal.
