The website for Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw Productions has a new release date window for his next movie after its removal from the 2024 slate.
Peele Movie Release Date Window Moves
The website confirms that while the next movie from the creator of Get Out, Us, and Nope has indeed been pushed out of 2024, it’s likely not a lengthy pushback.
The new movie is happening at Universal and had been penciled in for a Christmas Day 2024 release (as was Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu), but strikes in 2023 seemingly helped it drop off Universal’s 2024 slate. The new release window sees the untitled movie arriving in 2025.
Very little is known about Peele’s latest film, which seems par for the course with the secrecy that surrounded previous works like Us and Nope. The Christmas release date may possibly have held a hint, and if so, the delay could be a full year. Peele has said this movie could be his favorite if he makes it right.
So far, Peele has tackled body-swapping, doppelgangers, and extraterrestrial invaders in his brief yet successful directorial career. All told through his distinctive lens.
Peele will have plenty to keep him busy as it is. Monkeypaw is handling the sports thriller GOAT and the oddball Monkey Man. Recently he announced a collaboration with Hideo Kojima for the new horror game OD, which stars the likes of Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schaefer, and Udo Kier.
