Who’s Targeting Bobby Lashley for a Match Amidst WWE Departure?

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, who is set to leave the promotion, was recently called out for a match. At WWE WrestleMania 40, Lashley and his faction, The Pride, secured a significant victory against The Final Testament. He then competed in a number one contender match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar, with Knight coming out on top.

After this, Lashley made several backstage appearances on WWE programming but did not compete in the ring. In May, Lashley was announced as a participant in the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament. However, just days before the qualifiers, he was pulled from the tournament. WWE SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis, explained that Lashley was pulled due to his inability to compete.

Amid news of Bobby Lashley being out of action, reports emerged a few days ago that he is expected to leave WWE once his contract expires. Speculation suggests that he might join AEW after his departure. MVP is also rumored to be parting ways with the promotion, he is potentially joining with Lashley. This has fueled the rumors of a The Hurt Business reunion.

As Lashley prepares to exit WWE, former superstar Matt Cardona, previously known as Zack Ryder, has called out the former champion for a match.

Matt Cardona invites Bobby Lashley in GCW for a match

Matt Cardona, released by WWE in 2020 during budget cuts, has become a major star in the independent wrestling scene, particularly in GCW. He recently challenged former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley to a match. Cardona referenced their past WWE encounter, where Lashley defeated him, and invited the latter to face him in a GCW ring.

While still under contract with WWE, reports indicate his deal is set to expire in the coming months. Moreover, Matt Cardona’s challenge adds another layer of excitement to the situation. Whether Lashley will accept the offer and potentially make his way to the independent scene remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more updates.
