Attack on Titan studio MAPPA revealed the first trailer for its upcoming anime adaptation for Chainsaw Man.
The trailer was revealed during MAPPA’s tenth-anniversary stage event. It gives a good look at its animation, as well as its incredibly intense action. Also, there is a man with a chainsaw on his forehead slicing and dicing a bunch of people. It is truly wild. You can check out the trailer below.

The trailer also revealed the anime’s staff. Here is the list of staff as well as their role as shown in the trailer:
- Ryu Nakayama – Director
- Makoto Nakazono – Chief Director
- Hiroshi Seko – Screenwriter
- Kazutaka Sugiyama – Character Designer
- Tatsuya Yoshihara – Action Director
- Kensuke Ushio – Composer
The director Nakayama is known for their work on Jujutsu Kaisen, while Nakazono is known for their work on DARLING in the FRANXX. Yoshihara has worked on the hit anime Black Clover, while Ushio composed the soundtrack for Devilman Crybaby. Seko is known for their work on Vinland Saga, and Sugiyama served in the same role on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
Both the voice cast and its premiere date for Chainsaw Man have yet to be revealed.

If you’re wondering exactly why this dude has chainsaws on his head and arms, here is a very brief description from the manga’s publisher VIZ:
“Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!”
Chainsaw Man is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who also is known for their work on the Fire Punch manga. It was initially serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020.
