Overlord IV Episode 10 Recap
Ainz recognizes the red adventurer’s armor as something from Yggdrasil. After the Floor Guardians deduce Ainz’s objectives, Demiurge suggests sending more forces to destroy the whole town. Ainz remembers his discussion with Pestonya, so he tells the Floor Guardians about the slight change of plans. Ainz announces they will head straight for the royal capital while destroying all the towns in their way. Meanwhile, Princess Renner talks to Prince Zanac. They discuss the Sorcerer Kingdom’s actions, correctly analyzing them. Zanac says they have no choice but to stand down and fight. Elsewhere, the Drop of Red and the Blue Roses meet with the Black Scripture, an elite party from the Theocracy. They mention they are there to scout members to help them fight Ainz. Lakyus declines the invitation. Meanwhile, Azuth says he wants to fight against Ainz on his own.
Before the battle, Zanac meets with Ainz. He asks why Ainz won’t accept his kingdom’s request to surrender. Ainz explains he’s using Zanac’s kingdom to show everyone why they shouldn’t resist the Sorcerer Kingdom. Zanac wonders about the reasoning behind Ainz’s actions, mentioning there are other ways to go about with his objective. Furthermore, he asks Ainz what his ultimate goal is — Ainz says he’s simply searching for happiness. Somehow, Zanac understands why Ainz refused to accept their surrender.
Ainz also asks Zanac a question. He finds out Gazef’s sword is currently with Brain. After learning Brain isn’t on the battlefield, Ainz says he’s free to use any spell to eliminate Zanac’s army. Zanac requests Ainz to use magic that won’t let his people suffer too long. Ainz accepts to be gentle with killing him since they’ve become acquainted. He returns to his tent and tells his people that Ainz plans to kill everyone. They beg for Zanac to surrender, but Zanac says their only way of survival is if they defeat Ainz.
Some of the nobles beg for mercy, asking Ainz if they could be spared along with their families. They offer him Zanac’s head. Ainz accepts their plea and tells Albedo to bring them to Neuronist. He tells Aura to let Neuronist know that she shouldn’t kill them unless they beg for it. Even so, he mentions they should not be killed quickly. Meanwhile, Ainz assigns Cocytus and Mare as the commander and vice-commander. He gives them free rein on how they’ll massacre everyone.
