CHiCO Performs Mission: Yozakura Family Ending Theme Song, New Visual Unveiled

Hitsuji Gondaira’s Mission: Yozakura Family manga is getting a television series adaptation. The manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen magazine in August 2019, and the magazine’s 14th issue unveiled a new visual for the television adaptation while announcing that the ending theme song, titled ‘fam!’ will be performed by the Jpop singer CHiCO.

Though Shueisha originally published the manga in August 2019, VIZ Media began serializing its compiled volumes in English in December 2020. Moreover, Shueisha’s MANGA Plus serializes the manga in English. 

MANGA Plus describes the narrative: “Taiyo Asano is a super shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura. It turns out that Mutsumi is the daughter of the ultimate spy family!”

Articulating the plot further, the manga publishing service jots, “Even worse, Mutsumi is being harassed by her overprotective, nightmare of a brother, Kyoichiro. What drastic steps will Taiyo have to take to save Mutsumi?! A spy family comedy – the mission begins!”

The anime TV series will begin premiering on April 7, 2024. The episodes will air every Sunday at 5 p.m. JST on local Japanese channels, including the MBS and TBS networks.

The stellar cast of the anime includes the following:

  • Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi Yozakura
  • Reiji Kawashima as Taiyō Asano
  • Akari Kitō as Futaba Yozakura
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kyōichirō Yozakura
  • Aoi Yūki as Shion Yozakura
  • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shinzō Yozakura
  • Yumi Uchiyama as Nanao Yozakura
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kengo Yozakura and Goliath

Along with taking charge of the scripts, Mirai Minato directs the anime at SILVER LINK. Meanwhile, the chief animation director, Mizuki Takahashi, is responsible for character design. Moreover, Kōji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki are handling music composition for the series.
