Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has been praised as one of the best manga and anime series of all time for good reason. The series has produced several fantastic arcs that show the mangaka’s immaculate storytelling abilities. Although Monkey D. Luffy’s journey is far from over, the pirate has embarked on several exciting adventures till now. While some may not be as exciting as others, they are all equally important to the story. Although each One Piece arc is important, some can’t help but make fans come back to rewatch them. This is a testament to the ability and creativity of Eiichiro Oda.
With that said, here are the best One Piece arcs.
Marineford
Despite being farther down from the series’ current episode, MarineFord is one of the best One Piece arcs. The arc focuses on Luffy and the escaped prisoners of Impel arriving to stop Ace’s execution. The arc featured a lot of exciting moments, like Luffy challenging Whitebeard and using Conqueror’s haki. However, it wasn’t without heartbreak, as fans had to bid farewell to both Ace and Whitebeard. Marineford marked the beginning of the new pirate era and is one of the best arcs to rewatch.
EggHead
While the arc is still ongoing, it has left fans with many amazing memories. From Luffys rematch with Lucci to Bonney’s Nika transformation, the egghead arc is truly a cut above the rest. Egghead also serves as the beginning of the final saga of the amazing pirate story, which raises the stakes even higher than usual. The mysteries discovered on the egghead arc shape not only the crew but the entire world, as they are still more mysteries to be unearthed.
Enies Lobby
Although the Enies Lobby arc is older than most, it is one of the best One Piece arcs. It saw Luffy and the rest of the crew heading to Enies Lobby to rescue Robin from the world government. The story was a significant turning point for the series as it saw the straw hats declare war on the world government. While it boasted several amazing fight scenes, the emotions captured are a major driving force for the arc. It featured a lot of intense moments, but Robin declaring her will to live brought tears to numerous fans. Luffy’s high-stakes rescue mission is touted as one of the best rescue missions in anime history.
Wano
The Wano arc has been called the best One Piece arc of the series, and many have placed it among the best arcs in Shounen’s history. It is also one of the longest arcs in Shounen anime, spanning over 150 episodes. The story drifted away from the typical story, highlighting the rise and fall of an entire country. Wano had been the most anticipated part of the story as it wrapped up the events of Dressrosa and Punk Hazard. The arc featured several exciting moments, but Luffy’s Gear 5 debut stole the show, successfully breaking the internet. The arc embodied everything fans want in a good story, from riveting adventure to immaculate fight scenes that always keep you guessing.
Arlong Park
Arlong Park was the perfect story to round up the East Blue story saga. The arc introduced Arlong, one of the first fish-men introduced to the series. It also showed Nami’s backstory, which needed to be clarified then. The arc was very emotional, as Nami’s upbringing and motivation were the major focus. Nami asked Luffy, and the latter putting his hat on her head showed how much the captain had cared for his navigator in their short time together.
Whole Cake
The Whole Cake Arc is undoubtedly one of the most interesting arcs in one piece. Despite the entire crew not being present, the stakes were high as Sanji’s loyalty to the crew was questioned. It saw Luffy head to Whole Cake Island to rescue Sanji from Big Mom’s clutches. The arc was extremely entertaining as it showed the caliber of strength possessed by the emperors of the sea. However, the highlight was Luffy showing the fruits of his training with Rayleigh and defeating Katakuri.
