The ongoing Chinese workplace romance drama Our Interpreter released episodes 20 and 21 on January 18, 2024. The original broadcasting network of Our Interpreter is Hunan TV. This drama tells the story of ex-lovers Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yicheng (Chen Xingxu), who have to face each other eight years after their breakup. Lin Xi is a successful translator, and Yicheng is the lead technology officer in different companies. They have no choice but to continue meeting when the two companies sign a partnership.
Episode 20 of Our Interpreter begins with Tong Xin (Yu Shasha) sitting in her living room with Peter. Xin gets a call from work and she has to go out. Meanwhile, Yao Chen (Qiming Fei) comes home to find Peter alone and decides to spend some time with him. When Tong Xin returns from work, the three go out. They start to form a bond.
As seen in the previous episode of Our Interpreter, Yao Chen had broken Tong Xin’s jade bracelet, gifted by her late husband. In the latest episode, he decides to make an exact one for her. Yao Chen goes to a flea market to buy the stone, but he is shocked to see the price. He decides to get some extra interpretation job and reaches out to Lin Xi.
Our Interpreter Ep 20-21: Chen Xingxu is tensed about work issues
It is hard for Lin Xi and Yicheng to get close or spend quality time together at work, as nobody else knows about their relationship yet. Yicheng is worried because a foreign investor is possibly backing down. He mentions that he really wanted Yuyi Technology to be the first one in China to get the deal, but he fears that the investor will not go through with it. Lin Xi talks to him and calms him down. After reaching home, Lin goes over to his place and cooks for him.
Yao Cheng saves money and pays a hefty amount to buy the jade. But when he goes to a jewelry maker with it, he finds out that it is a mere replica of the actual stone. He is heartbroken.
Yicheng prepares for his meeting with the investor. He is able to land the deal and immediately calls Lin Xi to give her the good news. On the other hand, Lin Xi is mad at one of her subordinates, Chen Wen, for her sloppy work. She is furious and thinks Chen is being lazy. Yicheng tries to calm her down.
In episode 21 of Our Interpreter, Wei Tian and Shasha go out on a date. Tian takes her to eat skewers. Even though Shasha can’t stand the smell, she eats it to make Tian happy. After returning home, she gets an upset stomach. On the other hand, Yicheng and Lin Xi go on a date together after work. They participate in various fun activities and spend some quality time together.
The next day at work turns out to be a challenging one for Lin Xi. She runs into one problem after another. Things start to escalate when a client brings serious accusations against Huasheng. The company opts for an internal investigation to get to the bottom of this serious matter.
