The upcoming modern C-drama The Tale of Rose premieres on June 8, 2024. The drama features popular actress Liu Yifei in the lead role. The drama tells the story of Huang Yi Mei (Liu Yifei), who experiences multiple heartbreaks throughout her life. But instead of accepting defeat, she learns from them and rises stronger than before. Born into a well-to-do household, she led a sheltered life. She had always wanted to make a career in the arts, and her family had been immensely supportive of her decision.
In no time, she started to thrive. After joining the workforce, she met Zhuang Guo Dong (Peng Guanying). They formed a mutual liking and started to date. But the complexities of life forced them to part ways. After a few years, she marries her college classmate, Fang Xie Wen (Lin Gengxin). However, this marriage also ends in a divorce.

Huang Yi Mei finally finds love when she meets Pu Jia Ming (Wallace Huo), but he is terminally ill and passes away shortly after. Yi Mei decides not to let her grief crush her spirit and to savor every second of her tempestuous life.

Other than the lead actors, The Tale of Rose will also feature Tong Dawei, Wan Qian, Zhu Zhu, Wu Bi, Huang Yi, Xia Lixin, Yan Qingyu, Wang Luyun, Dou Ruoxi, Yu Hui, and others in pivotal roles. It is an adaptation of Yi Shu’s “The Story of Rose.” Wang Jun is the director of the drama, while Li Xiao is the screenwriter.
The drama will reportedly release a total of 36 episodes, which will be available for streaming on CCTV8 and Tencent Video.
