Synopsis:
The Osbourne family returns in this collection of the second season of their MTV series. Its pretty much more of the same as Ozzy mumbles and fumbles around in a post-drug addiction stupor. Kelly and Jack continue to fight. The dogs continue to poop. However, the hi-jinks take a bit of a serious twist when Sharon finds out she has colon cancer. How will this dysfunctional Hollywood family handle the stress of dealing with a family member battling cancer? (Besides making numerous colon jokes?)
The 10th episode concludes the set with Ozzy and Sharon renewing their vows in a Jewish wedding ceremony despite the fact that none of them are Jewish.
The Osbournes: The 2nd Season is rated TV PG-L. However, if you watch the uncensored version theres a lot of explicit language.
The Movie:
Ive never really followed The Osbournes, but when I have run across it Ive been amused by it. I was expecting the novelty to wear off after the first season. After all, it was more of the same and theres only so much you can take. However, I found myself again strangely addicted as I watched this oddball family. Seeing Ozzy make his way across the country with Ozzfest was weird. His strange new yoga / spiritual guide is another taste of the bizarre otherworld they come from. Were treated to a little more of his music as they show bits and pieces of his performances. You get to see Jack jump off a pier and break his arm. Kelly starts recording an album thanks to her newfound fame from the show.
The most noteworthy event on the series is the revelation that Sharon Osbourne has colon cancer. The show follows her to her chemotherapy treatments. Each of the members of the family are shown dealing with it in their different ways. Ozzy becomes strangely dark, depressed, and consumed with worry about her. Its also somewhat revealing to see how the yes-men that surround him try to comfort him. Overall, its interesting to see these people that weve come to know over the series deal with this serious issue.
One of the noteworthy things about The Osbournes is the tongue-in-cheek tone of the whole production. Both the show and the DVD have a fun sense of humor. From the menus to the music to the extras, it all makes a funny DVD presentation.
If youre a fan of the original series, youll enjoy this. If you have a morbid curiosity what the hype has been about, then you may want to rent this and check it out.

All 10 episodes with uncensored and censored soundtracks You can watch the episodes with or without the profanity. Seeing as how the shock value of their foul language has long since worn off, it really doesnt make much difference what you watch.
30 minutes of unaired footage Theres a lot of extra footage on this DVD. It is uncensored, but otherwise its more of the same from the series.
Episode commentary with the Osbourne family Listening to this is pretty much like listening to the family watch home movies. Ozzy is incomprehensible as usual while everyone else laughs at themselves and others on the show. It doesnt add much to the episode. Theyll even go long stretches without saying anything. You almost forget youre listening to the commentary.
Ozzy translator for each episode In case you have trouble understanding the Prince of Darkness, this translator at the bottom will help you tremendously. Anytime Ozzy speaks, subtitles appear at the bottom of the screen. Usually funny little graphics will appear with it. It was an amusing feature from the first DVD that they have wisely continued.
Dookie’s Revenge: set-top game In this game you navigate the family dog around the living room and find the perfect place to poop. Disgusting, but amusing.
“What the $%#@ did he say?” trivia game In this game you try to figure out just what the heck Ozzy is saying. It ends up being a lot harder than you might expect.
The Bottom Line:
This DVD is only for fans of The Osbournes and those that are curious what the hype is about.
