RoboCop was most recently in Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC and now he’s going to be in his own full game for the first time since 2003. Publisher Nacon along with MGM and developer Teyon announced RoboCop: Rogue City, a “brand-new story” that’s based on the first three movies. It is scheduled to come out sometime in 2023 on “consoles and PC,” but those consoles were not specified.

The actual genre wasn’t specified either, but, given Teyon’s previous work, it has a decent chance of being a first-person shooter. The trailer (which you can find at the bottom) just gives a quick glimpse of the city, logo, and RoboCop’s bottom half. Nacon and Teyon said they are working together with MGM to create an “authentic” game that is “faithful to the franchise’s DNA.” Nacon CEO Alain Falc spoke in vague terms about the partnership.
“We’re delighted to be teaming up with MGM to offer a new vision of a popular franchise that was created over 30 years ago,” said Falc. “This game is the perfect fit to pursue our aim of offering different gaming experiences to the widest possible audience.”

Teyon has already developed a few games based on iconic ’80s action movie franchise. The team created Rambo: The Video Game in 2014 and Terminator: Resistance in 2019 and 2020, depend on the territory. Both were critically panned first-person shooters; Rambo has a 37 average on OpenCritic while Terminator has a 55.
