Xbox recently showed off new footage for the upcoming zombie apocalypse game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human. This Gamescom trailer revealed more gameplay ahead of its December 7 launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The extra look at gameplay shows off the player’s ability to decide the fate of the city as well as some combat against some of the non-zombified enemies. Everything from raiders to what Xbox describes in a blog post as “looters” looking to scavenge their latest haul are on display in the latest look at the game.

That same blog post highlights some of the activity from the trailer. Developer Techland spoke about the sheer amount of parkour animations that are in the game, with their goal to make navigation feel “incredibly smooth” while also making it seem like as close to the real world as possible. Along with new paraglider, returning grappling hook, trampolines, elevators, and ropes, players will have plenty of options when getting around the cursed city.
New infected enemies will also be present alongside the suite of additional characters and places to explore. Because the game takes place years after the original game, infected monsters have mutated, resulting in scarier and more dangerous foes to take on. Much like the original game, players will also have tons of decisions, with each of them having their own consequences. Some factions will work together while others will ambush him while working alone. It’s up to players to choose alliances. They all can have different ranged or melee weapons, making yet another factor players have to assess on the battlefield.
In the sequel, players will take on the role of Aidan Caldwell, a resident of one of the last bastions of mankind after 98% of the population has been lost to the virus that has turned people into zombie-like creatures. While searching Aidan’s past to uncover his secrets, players will meet new characters, including a handful of new factions that can help shape the city.
Techland also announced a series of special editions in May along with the release date for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. There are three different retail editions of the game, including the regular game, a Digital Deluxe Pack, and a Collector’s Edition of the game that includes a concept art book, a steelbook case for the game, a UV flashlight, and a statue that features Aidan Caldwell fighting off infected monsters.
