A mobile game based on the legendary anime Fullmetal Alchemist is set to launch on iOS and Android devices next year in Japan, and a trailer for the game highlights some surprisingly good CG cutscenes and battle gameplay.

In the Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile trailer, several cutscenes for the upcoming game were shown off, and judging by the quality, fans of the anime series won’t be disappointed when they dive into the game next year. Battles also feature high-quality 3D models, so no corners are being cut for production value.

Not too much is known about Fullmetal Alchemist as of yet, but the game will be based on Hiromu Arakawa’s manga series, and will aim to retell the original story of the series, as well as include battle scenes that “are brought to life in high-quality 3D CG,” according to an announcement for the game.
The title will be free-to-play, with item-based in-app purchases also available. The full breakdown for what has been announced for the game includes (per Gematsu):
- Relive the Original Story – Relive the story of the original Fullmetal Alchemist, fully voiced by an extravagant cast, with numerous famous scenes depicted in beautiful 3D CG or new animation. Uncover the charm of a timeless series.
- Spirited Battle Scenes – Lively battle scenes depicted by 3D CG. Heated alchemy battles are even more exhilarating through richly detailed scenes. The game’s unique battle displays by its rich cast (Edward, Alphonse, Mustang, and more) are a sight to behold.
Pre-registration for the game is available now on the game’s website, with a release date targeted for summer 2022.
