Idris Elba is no stranger to the world of music, and his latest foray into the industry comes in an appearance on the Gran Turismo 7 soundtrack.

Elba appears on the song “Vroom,” which is performed by The Fanatix, and also features Davido, Koffee, Moelogo, and Lil Tjay. The song is one of a handful of brand-new songs that were made to be included into the new racing title, and features tons of lyrics and imagery of racing around in expensive cars.

For Elba, this is just the latest in a long line of music that the actor has come out with. Elba has been appearing in music videos since the early 2000s, but didn’t record his own official music until 2006, when he released the four-song EP Big Man for Hevlar Records. Since then, Elba has been heavily involved in the music scene, even launching his own record label — 7Wallace Music — in 2018.

Besides “Vroom,” Elba’s most recently collaborated with the legendary Paul McCartney on a remix of his song “Long Tailed Winter Bird,” and also released a collaborative EP with Australian pop-rock duo Lime Cordiale titled Cordi Elba, which released in January 2022.
